Elements of Health Practitioners

Jill Schumacher     Meredith McCord

Jill is a masters prepared nurse with 30 years of  acute care nursing experience. She received her Baccalaureate Degree of Science in nursing from St. Louis University and Masters of Science from Rush University in Chicago,  Illinois.  For 15 years, Jill was an assistant professor in the School of Nursing at the Oregon Health Sciences University.  She taught theory and clinical courses in the undergraduate, graduate  and post masters nursing  programs.  Jill was a principal investigator of a research project examining critical thinking and clinical practice development.

Meredith is a masters prepared nurse with 26 years of acute care nursing experience. She received her Baccalaureate Degree of Science in nursing from University of Madison in Wisconsin and Masters of Science from Rush University in Chicago,  Illinois.  For 18 years, Meredith  was an assistant professor in the School of Nursing at the Oregon Health Sciences University. She taught theory and clinical courses in the undergraduate, graduate and post masters nursing programs.

 

While at OHSU,  Jill and Meredith created, designed and implemented the Integrative Health Series.  This series of courses bridged the ancient wisdom of our ancestors with the allopathic tradition for health care providers and members of the community. 

In June 2000, Jill and Meredith relinquished their faculty positions to pursue their commitment to health promotion and stress management.  They have a private practice with offices in Portland, Eugene and Baker City, Oregon.  With their unique background,  they are able to weave the tapestry of health promotion with compassion, scientific knowledge and wisdom of the healing arts.
